A trace of my ancestors!

A tintype and an Argentinian albumen print on cardboard. These are two photographic archives I was able to acquire from my grandfather's personal collection. Two magnificent portraits dating from the 19th century. These photos are magnificent!

Testimony

We moved to Laval in February 1966. A lot has changed in the Vimont neighborhood since our arrival. The house we built on 7th Avenue, now rue de Trieste, was the third on this street. Vimont was a semi-rural neighborhood. There were still many farms on the boulevard St-Elzéar and Dagenais rows, among others. In summer, it was very pleasant to go there to buy our freshly picked vegetables. People without cars who came to visit us from Montreal, like my mother, used the buses of the provincial transport company. No STL! The southern part of the neighborhood is now crossed from east to west by Autoroute Laval (440). Unfortunately, this has meant a huge loss of tranquility for many. The neighborhood is now almost completely built-up. You have to go east of Route 19 to see some farmland. Just like the city of Laval, it's a completely different environment. Our family lived here for many happy years, with our four children and friendly neighbors, many of whom became friends. Sadly, my husband passed away a few years ago. It's a huge loss. The house has now been sold for a year, and a new family is taking over. I chose to stay in my beloved neighborhood by moving into the R.P.A. Le Marronnier. It was a very good choice. I'm happy here.
