At Maison André-Benjamin-Papineau, students step through the doors of a nearly 200-year-old heritage home and immerse themselves in stories of everyday life. They handle historical objects, take on engaging challenges, and meet historical figures. This educational program offers an immersive, hands-on way to discover traditional skills, understand the daily lives of the people who shaped our region, andrealize that history is written not only through major events, but also within our own communities.
Each activity includes a guided tour of the permanent exhibition, with the option of exploring the temporary exhibition as well. Pre-visit and post-visit educational resources are provided to help teachers prepare students for the experience and extend learning back in the classroom.
Designed to be experienced inside the Maison André-Benjamin-Papineau, some activities have also been adapted for delivery directly at your school. Inspired by the Programme de formation de l'école québécoise (PFEQ), these activities are intended for elementary and secondary school students, as well as French-language integration (francization) classes.
Stimulating activities for teenagers
Our fun-filled activities and workshops are designed to arouse the curiosity of your students ! Activities last an average of 45 minutes, but can easily be adapted to suit the needs of your group. All activities offered at Maison André-Benjamin-Papineau are inspired by the programme de formation de l'école québecoise (PFEQ).

Réseau ArtHist, the organization that manages and brings Maison André-Benjamin-Papineau to life, is recognized under the La culture à l'école program, allowing eligible educational institutions to benefit from financial assistance for the delivery of selected cultural activities.
