Starting June 22 2026, the Maison André-Benjamin-Papineau will switch to its summer hours and welcome you Tuesday through Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
With the arrival of summer, the House comes alive more than ever. Exhibitions, tours, workshops, historical figures, and community events will punctuate the season in a friendly atmosphere!
Whether you’re curious about history, looking for a unique outing in Laval, or simply searching for a place to slow down, plenty of opportunities await you this summer to step inside this historic home.
Une visite entre histoire, découvertes et rencontres
Through the permanent exhibition Listen - the walls have a tale to tell!, discover daily life in the past, the history of the house, and the life of André-Benjamin Papineau, a key figure in the development of Saint-Martin in the 19th century.
The temporary exhibition House built invites you to explore the trades and skills of the artisans who shaped this ancestral home. Antique tools, construction techniques, interactive challenges, and period artifacts offer a unique way to discover Laval’s heritage.
The whole house is getting into the festive spirit
This summer, the Maison will also take on a festive atmosphere with a variety of cultural and family-friendly events designed to bring together people of all ages.
Creative workshops, educational activities, outdoor entertainment, and special events will bring the site to life in new ways throughout the season. Many activities will be offered free of charge!
To kick off this summer program, the Maison invites you to celebrate Quebec’s National Holiday on June 24 in a festive, warm, and welcoming atmosphere.
On July 18 and August 15, the “Les beaux jours à la Maison” series will feature two free family days inspired by both Quebec traditions and traditions from here and abroad. Games, hands-on workshops, historical figures, and opportunities to relax will be on the agenda, allowing you to fully enjoy the summer in a setting steeped in history.
